About

Ishak Pasha from Inegöl who was an important statesman and grand vizier during Mehmet the Conqueror and Bayezid II, initiated a foundation and the construction of a building complex that encloses a mosque, madrasah and mausoleum in Cami-i Kebir Street around İnegöl plaza. Inscription plate of the mosque and mausoleum did not reach the present day, but construction repair plate dating back to Abdulhamid II can be seen over entrance gate of sanctuary.

As it is mentioned in Ishak Pasha's endowment dated 1486, there were also imaret, lodges, inn and barn in the complex of 15th period. Only mosque, madrasah and tomb have survived to this day.

İshak Pasha Mosque consists of two square-shaped, domed rooms in the north-south direction, and two side rooms with small domes on the right and left of the entrance and 5-bay narthex. According to this plan, İshak Pasha Mosque belongs to the group of Reverse T-planned, side-space or angular mosques. It has become part of literature where it is described as “Bursa” arch.
